Film Dorit Margreiter „Pavilon“ nám říká něco o náhodném vztahu mezi postavením obrazu a prostoru uvnitř i vně projekce. Klíčovým prvkem a zároveň pozadím této filmové instalace se stala vize ideálního výstavního prostoru pro rakouské malířství a sochařství v Giardini v Benátkách Josefa Hoffmanna. Pavilon, postavený v roce 1934, je architektonickou památkou a výstavním prostorem, který se využívá pouze během letních měsíců a mizí z očí veřejnosti po celý zbytek roku.
Margreiter zkoumá, jak se vztah mezi funkcí pavilonu jako architektonické památky a jeho rolí prostoru, který se vytrácí do pozadí, během své prezentace opakovaně proměňuje.
V její práci se pavilon stává scénou komplexních vztahů, pomocí kterých umělkyně vizuálně spojuje interiér a exteriér budovy, a tím obnovuje jeho postavení jako prototypu výstavního prostoru.

Dorit Margreiter's film “Pavilion“ tells us something about the contingent relationship between the status of the image and the space inside as well as outside of the projection. Josef Hoffmann's vision of an ideal exhibition space for Austrian painting and sculpture in the Giardini in Venice serves as the key element and backdrop for Dorit Margreiter's film installation “Pavilion“. The pavilion, built in 1934, is an architectural monument and exhibition space that is only used during the summer months and disappears from the public eye for the rest of the year.
Margreiter examines how the relationship between the pavilion's function as historic architecture and its role as a setting that fades into the background is repeatedly re-negotiated in the moment of its presentation.
In her work, the pavilion becomes the setting for multiple interactions in which the artist visually merges the building's interior and exterior, thus restoring its status as the prototype of an exhibition space. […]
