Born 11. 5. 1924 in Nový Rychnov. Painter, illustrator, graphic and applied art artist (posters, book covers and graphic layout of books, exlibris, minute graphic), artist of compositions in the field of exposition and architectural objects (design of tapestry and artprotists, mosaic, house signs), university professor. Studied at Art Education Department of the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University (1952–1955, C. Bouda, K. Lidický, M. Míčko, M. Salcman, J. Sejpka). He has exhibited in solo shows since 1967 (CZ, I, D), collectively since 1959 (CZ, PL, D, JUG, GB, NL, A, RUS, S, B, F, H, USA, JAP). Represented in collections at: Uměleckoprůmyslové museum in Prague, Památník národního písemnictví in Prague, Moravská galerie in Brno, Muzeum umění Olomouc, Galerie výtvarného umění in Ostrava, Krajská galerie výtvarného umění in Zlín and private collections. Awards (selection): 3rd prize at I. Bienalle of Applied Graphic in Brno for modern design of a political poster (1963), honoured by the president for contribution to the reconstruction of Prague (1967), got the Master of Art title (1988), prize of Statuatory town of Olomouc (2003). Membership in art groups and associations: Radar, Svaz československých výtvarných umělců, Svaz českých výtvarných umělců, Unie výtvarných umělců Olomoucka (since 1990).
