Jindra Viková was born in 1946 in Prague. She studied at the University of Applied Art in Prague. From 1990-2002 she taught at several universities in the USA. She received international awards in Italy, France, Iraq, South Korea, Switzerland and Japan. Her work is held in a huge amount of collections all over the world, including the Icheon World Ceramic Center,, South Korea; Fule International Ceramic Art Museums, Fuping and the Vision Art Space, Shanghai, China; Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche, Faenza, Italy; State Art Collection, Dublin, Ireland; Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, Australia; Landesmuseum Wurttemberg, Stuttgart, Germany; Musée Ariana, Geneva, Switzerland; Kennedy Museum of Art, Ohio, the Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach (CA), the Walla Walla Foundry, Walla Walla (WA), the Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile (AL), the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, Otis (OR), USA; as well as many musums in the Czech Republic and numerous private collections.
